csa – community supported agriculture in gainesville
Siembra Farm is a small, USDA Certified Organic family farm located in southeast Gainesville, Florida. We offer a weekly CSA(Community Supported Agriculture) membership that gives the consumer a direct connection to the food they eat and allows the farmer to prioritize sustainable farming techniques and maximum nutrition. We strive to grow food that is nutritious and natural while practicing sustainable small scale farming techniques that preserve soil, air and water. At Siembra Farm we believe strongly in food accessibility. That is, everyone regardless of economic status, race, gender etc., has the right to nutritious food. We want to get a fair price for our organic vegetables but we also want all people, regardless of income, to be able to afford to eat well.
Siembra Farm’s first Farm Dinner Fundraiser will be held at Vine Bread and Pasta on February 4th from7-9p. The price is $45 and includes appetizers, dinner, dessert as well as First Magnitude beer, wine or a non-alcoholic sangria. The profits of the dinner will go towards sending two of our fabulous farmworkers to the Southern Sustainable Agriculture Working Group conference. Click Here to Register Space is limited. For CSA Members, each week we deliver a basket of seasonal veggies freshly harvested from our farm. Baskets are typically enough to feed a family of 3 to 4 their veggies for the week and include a salad mix, root veggies, greens and whatever else is in season.
Baskets will begin October 19th and continue through June 10th.
Shares are $30 per week with an annual start up fee of $50 to $150 sliding scale; (see our Sliding Scale page for an explanation).
We are starting our sixth season and expect it to be the best yet. We appreciate all the support and interest we have received!
Please feel free to call or email us with any questions or to schedule a visit to the farm.
