The Siembra Story *

Since 2010, our growing team has strived to provide our community with nutritious food grown from healthy crops.

Siembra grows a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs on thirteen acres in SE Gainesville. We continue to prioritize soil enhancement and natural resource preservation as key tenets of our growing methods.

Every season we offer a weekly CSA to the local community with an ever-changing variety of fresh vegetables. This Community Supported Agriculture model helps the farm cover major start up expenses in the Fall. In turn, CSA members benefit by enjoying discounted prices on their shares and having priority access to new crops.

After growing Certified Organic for years, we, more recently, decided to end our official certification. Using the same care and standards, we continue to grow food we want to eat but, more importantly, food that we feel good about feeding our loved ones.

Siembra values paying our farmers fair wages for their work and profit sharing at the end of each growing season. We practice horizontal management in order to distribute responsibility more evenly amongst employees than typical hierarchical work structures. This redistribution reduces burnout for everyone. Our goal is to create a work environment where everyone can relax while being respected and responsible!
